Mass Earthwork Services
On this project SES provided mass earthwork services for a concrete parking garage with residential apartment units above. Although this was not a high-volume earthwork job, only about 10,000 cy, its complex layout made it a challenge.
We worked with the concrete contractor to design a 3-D surface model that minimized footer excavation depths and balanced footer spoils with back-fill material needs. The model included six different pad elevations with sloped transitions. Our crew used one GPS guided excavator and two GPS guided dozers on this job.
SES’s early completion of the mass cut/fill allowed the lagging wall to start two weeks early and the geopiers to start one month early.
