Sehlhorst History

In the mid 1980’s, after working for a local plumbing contractor for over ten years, Dan Sehlhorst decided he wanted to run his own business. He started Sehlhorst Equipment Services in 1985.

SES’s beginning was humble; the home office was managed by Dan’s wife Diana, the fleet was a single axle dump truck and a backhoe, and Dan was the manpower. However, Dan also had two things that would ensure future success; a relentless work ethic, and the commitment to do whatever it took to meet his client’s needs.

As SES added quality manpower and expanded the fleet, this work ethic and dedication to service became the company culture. “Whatever it takes” became Dan’s response when his clients asked, “What can you do to help us with this problem?”

Today SES has a forty-person strong workforce, a fleet to handle any major site work project in the tri-state area, and the “Whatever it takes” attitude toward meeting our client’s needs.
